Girl Scouts help "Swear in" New Mayor

Posted by: Mindy on Tue, Jan 9, 2018

The Hillsborough Town Council again honored the Girl Scouts by asking us to participate in the annual 'swearing in' of the new Mayor and our town council members by performing a Flag Ceremony.  Girl Scouts Brynne Briegs of Troop 60261, Kathleen O'Brien and Alexa LaMotta of Troop 60143, Laura Weintraub of Troop 60126, Abigail Snowdon of Troop 60243, and Carlie Cascia of Troop 60640 participated in the opening ceremony of the night and were personally thanked by both the Township Clerk Pam Borek, and our new Mayor Gloria McCauley.  The girls were on-hand to see the process of 'swearing in' where Mayor McCauley and Deputy Mayor Doug Thompson both took their oaths of office.  Many local and state legislators were on hand to support the Hillsborough Township government including Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker, Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, Representative Leonard Lance, and Senator Kip Bateman. The girls were trained in their duties by a number of police officers including Lieutenant Charles Boyle.
